- Then, select the discretionary modules you wish to add to your arrangement, like Abroad Short term, Wellbeing and Prosperity, and Vision and Dental. Each module has a deductible option and a benefit cap.
- Applicants can adjust their premiums with a wide range of deductibles and co-insurance options to fit their budget. Choosing a higher deductible and co-insurance options will result in lower premiums, but higher out-of-pocket costs until the deductible and co-insurance amounts are reached.
- Finally, the applicant chooses whether to pay the premium monthly, quarterly, or annually. Cigna accepts payment by credit or debit card or, for annual payments, by bank transfer. Cigna Global Medical Insurance Plan Rates
Cigna Global premiums are determined based on several factors, including plan tier selection; Cigna offers three main plan tiers called Silver, Gold, and Platinum, each with increasing costs and coverage. Aside from tier selection, plan costs also vary depending on the coverage area and age selected.
Premium rates can be managed by selecting deductibles and cost-sharing options. The deductible and cost-sharing options are recommended for individuals and families who want to save more money on their monthly expenses. Note, however, that while premiums will be lower, out-of-pocket costs will increase. Get a Statement
Finally, adding outpatient care or other optional modules to make the Cigna International Health Plan more comprehensive will increase covered medical expenses as well as premiums.

Will Cigna pay for my treatment through direct charging?
Yes, Cigna Global has an extensive international physician and hospital network that can bill directly. When possible, Cigna International Healthcare Services will arrange payment directly to the hospital, clinic, or physician. However, if you choose to pay the deductible, you must pay this amount yourself.
We recommend that you always contact Cigna Global Customer Care to arrange for direct billing prior to receiving treatment.
If your direct claim is not automatically covered, contacting Cigna prior to treatment will help you manage future payments and claim reimbursements. Cigna Worldwide Health Care Insurance
What is it that I really want to be aware prior to presenting a case to Cigna Worldwide?
Always call Cigna Global before you seek treatment. We can locate the best clinic, doctor, or hospital in your area and arrange payment directly to you. This saves you the expense and hassle of paying for your treatment yourself and requesting reimbursement from Cigna later. Cigna Global will cover the cost of the initial specialist visit, along with any prescribed medications, even without prior authorization, as long as the treatment is covered by your plan.
In most cases, the clinic, doctor, or hospital will send the bill directly to Cigna. In some cases, however, you may be given an invoice after treatment. In these cases, please send the bill to Cigna along with your claim form. If you choose to apply a deductible to your plan, you must first pay this amount to the hospital, clinic, or physician.
Calling Cigna Global before you seek treatment is not always possible, especially in an emergency. In this case, you must pay for the treatment yourself and send the bill and claim form to Cigna. Within 5 days of receipt, you will be reimbursed the amount of the claim, minus the deductible.
If you paid for the treatment yourself, you must file a claim for the covered cost minus the deductible and/or copay. Detailed information on how to receive treatment and file a claim is enclosed in your Welcome Pack along with a copy of the claim form. Additional claim forms can also be downloaded here:

How will Cigna reimburse my claim?
If you have already paid for your treatment out-of-pocket, please complete the claim form and mail, email or fax it along with your claim to Cigna Global. Be sure to keep the original form in case it is later requested by your insurance company.
Cigna Global will reimburse you within 5 business days of receiving your completed form. Please decide in which currency you would like to receive your funds when they are deposited into your account. Because of Cigna’s extensive worldwide network, you can receive your reimbursement in more than 135 currencies.
What are Cigna Global’s deductibles and cost sharing?
When creating a customized plan, you have the option to add a deductible. For example, if you choose a $250 deductible, you must pay the first $250 of any claim or claims during the policy period directly to the hospital, clinic, or doctor at the time of treatment.
If the treatment costs $500, you must pay $250 and Cigna Global will pay the remaining $250. If you choose a deductible, you must pay it only once during the policy period, regardless of the number of times you file a claim. Cigna Worldwide Health Care Insurance
Expense Percentage is the percentage you are responsible for for each claim. Out of Pocket Maximum is the maximum amount you must pay as Cost Share per policy year.
An example calculation is shown below:
If your claim amount is $20,000
Your policy has a $500 deductible.
You have a 20% cost-share and the out-of-pocket maximum is $2,000.
You pay $2,500. Cigna Global pays $17,500.
After paying the $500 deductible, your out-of-pocket amount is 20% of $19,500 ($3,900). This is more than the $2,000 co-pay limit, so you only pay the $2,000 co-pay limit. In total, you will pay $2,500, which is the sum of your cost share and the $500 deductible you paid initially. The remaining $17,500 will be covered by Cigna.
Does Cigna Global cover pre-existing conditions?
Yes – Cigna Global will cover pre-existing conditions that are not specifically excluded at the time of application until the medical history is verified. Regardless of the diagnosis, Cigna may decide to add special exclusions to the plan if you have sought advice or experienced symptoms prior to the plan start date. Therefore, you should complete the medical questionnaire as accurately as possible when applying. Cigna Worldwide Health Care Insurance
If you have a pre-existing condition, Cigna Global will usually address it in one of four ways.
Pre-existing conditions are covered like any other illness. This is usually the case for minor pre-existing conditions such as allergies.
Pre-existing conditions are excluded.
The policy will cover the pre-existing condition, but may charge a “rate increase” to cover additional costs associated with that pre-existing condition or place specific limits on costs associated with that pre-existing condition.
The application will be denied.
