- What will you do as a delivery driver?
- Really look at orders for quality and precision prior to leaving the store.
- Deliver our cookies, milk, and ice cream to our loyal fans in a timely and safe manner.
- Provide quality customer service through proactive and professional interactions with our customers, both in person and over the phone.
- Provide accurate status updates to customers using the Insomnia delivery app and in accordance with approved company standards
- Required Skills/Experience.
- Must own a vehicle.
- Must have insurance in own name.
- Must have a recent clear driver abstract from MTO.
- Must have a minimum of G2 and 2 years of driving experience.
- Must be able to read and write fluent English and perform simple calculations for customer payments.
- Knowledge of the 5KM radius around York University is a plus!
- Must have a lighted topper while driving.

Shift Transit is a leading mobility operations company, overseeing 25,000 mobility assets on a daily basis, including scooters, bicycles, car sharing vehicles, and microtransit/paratransit vans.

Our Field Portability Partner ensures our bicycles are perfectly positioned with impeccable timing. Partners work alone or with others under the direction of the Field Tasks Group.We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Field Mobility Associate*. The Associate’s duties will include the following
Perform pre- and post-inspections of rebalanced vehicles and report any problems to the Field Operations team.
- Respond effectively to dispatches as directed.
- Retrieve inoperable bicycles via instructions or inoperable bicycle software.
- Examine docking stations for operability, security, and tidiness.
- Maintain the area around the bike station as needed to ensure seamless service to members.
- Set the best expectations while communicating with current and possible clients.
Work with the Field Operations team to continually improve the system and escalate any issues to Dispatch.
Must be able to perform minor maintenance tasks such as refilling receipt paper and removing graffiti.
Must be able to drive a variety of vehicles (with or without trailer attachment) and travel by bicycle or public transportation.
Drive a variety of vehicles (large vans, cube vans, pickup trucks with trailers) and redistribute bicycles as needed based on real-time demand data.
Load and unload vehicles with bicycles. Communicate with dispatchers and follow instructions delivered through dispatch software.
Evaluate bike safety and bike station conditions and report issues to Dispatch as needed.
Maintain knowledge of the system to provide excellent customer service to local customers and potential customers.
Required Skills and Experience.
- Should have a substantial Class G driver’s permit.
- Must be able to provide a clean driving record.
- Ability to multi-task
- Willingness to learn and develop skill sets.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent knowledge of the City of Toronto.
- Must be physically fit, able to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable with smart phone operation.
- Must be able to work year-round and in all weather conditions.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

About the bike

- Pizza assembly stations require bending forward at the waist.
- There is room for the toes, but the knees cannot be bent while standing.
- Each task takes approximately 30-45 seconds and is repeated continuously throughout the day.
- Forward bending is also present at the front counter and during food preparation.
- Crouching/Squatting.
- Occasionally performed to place items on shelves or to clean low areas.
Reaching
- Reaching up, down, and forward constantly.
- Occasionally reaches 72″ or higher to turn oven controls on/off, change prices on signs, and raise and lower items to and from shelves.
- Reaches down to scoop cornmeal from plastic barrels or wash dishes.
- Reaches forward to obtain topping ingredients, clean work surfaces, and answer phones.
Driving
- Deliver pizzas within the designated delivery area. Team members may make several deliveries per shift.
Manual Labor
- Eye-hand coordination is essential. Continuous use of hands throughout the day.
- Often uses one or both hands. Requires frequent and forceful use of forearms and wrists when forming pizza dough.
- Must manipulate pizza peel when removing pizza from oven or using rolling cutter.
- Requires frequent and/or forceful pinching when assembling cardboard pizza boxes.
- Team members must be able to grasp cans, phones, pizza cutters, pizza peels, and pizza boxes.
- Machinery, tools, equipment, and work aids
- Pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutters, pizza peels, etc. may be used.
Specific Job Duties.
- Deliver products by motorcycle to customers’ doors.
- Deliver flyers and door hangers.
