JOB SUMMARY: As a member of the BGIS SCS team, you will be responsible for all aspects of heavy duty cleaning in assigned zones with an emphasis on quality control, health and safety, and striving to exceed customer expectations.
This position is Monday through Friday after 5:00 p.m. for 3 hours per day.
Primary Responsibilities As a core member of the operations team, reporting to the Manager/Supervisor, the Heavy Duty Cleaner will
Sweep, scrub, and vacuum floors
Dry/wet mopping (washing/scrubbing) and polishing hard surface floors (hand-held or walk-behind buffing machines are used for floor washing/scrubbing). In large open applications, automated equipment may be used to perform these functions)
- Strip and finish hard surface floors using manual or powered equipment as needed.
- Transport trash from collection points to dumpsters or compactors.
- Transport maintenance machinery between floor and job site as needed.
- Clean and store used equipment and machinery.
- Clean glass areas requiring ladders, scaffolding, or other extension equipment
- Clean floors in washrooms.
- Clean stairwells and elevators requiring ladders
- Loading and unloading equipment and replenishing cleaning solutions
- Follow procedures for use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and equipment
Other duties as assigned by management
- Notify management of the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
- Prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications by mixing water and detergent or acid in containers.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Steam clean or shampoo carpets.
- Removes snow and debris from sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots using snowplows, plows, and snow shovels; applies snow melting chemicals.
- Interact with English-speaking customers.
Application Requirements.
- Experience in a variety of cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance duties within a facility.
- Experience with floor maintenance machinery, cleaning equipment, materials, and solutions.
- Knowledge of regulations applicable to this job, including Occupational Health and Safety Code and WHMIS.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects and climb ladders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, customers, and the public.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and shifts and willingness to work in multiple work locations.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and to create and maintain manuals and electronic records.

Oneida LTCH is seeking a part-time casual Housekeeping Aide. As a member of the Environmental Services team, the Housekeeping Aide will maintain the home in a clean and orderly condition to provide a safe and comfortable environment for home residents, visitors, and staff.
Essential Responsibilities.
Conduct business in compliance with the Health and Long Term Care Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Public Health Regulations, Sanitation Code, and Oneida LTC Home policies and procedures.
Ensure that all rooms and household furnishings in the home are cleaned regularly (bathrooms, bath rooms, resident rooms, offices, hallways, storage areas, utility rooms, furniture, draperies, etc.).
Responsible for the safe operation of vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, scrubbers, floor machines, and any other equipment used in the housekeeping department.
Responsible for the safe handling and storage of all chemicals within the housekeeping department.
Responsible for ensuring all storage rooms and carts are stocked and properly secured according to regulations.
Responsible for collecting all waste containers and transporting them to storage in accordance with relevant regulations.
- Report all repairs to maintenance through the work order program.
- Report all required inventory to the Supervisor.
- Performs other related duties as assigned in accordance with job responsibilities or required departmental goals.
- Communicates concerns from residents, families, and staff to the assigned RN.
- Keep work area and equipment clean and free of hazards.
- Follow established procedures to prevent the spread of infection, including hand washing and use of protective clothing and equipment.
- Qualifications
- Information on cleaning supplies and related housekeeping hardware liked.
- Knowledge of infection prevention/control is preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
As a core member of the team, the janitor must be able to Perform responsibilities to meet client/tenant requirements and ensure that cleaning deficiencies are identified to the management team for inclusion in the cleaning program.

Knowledge and Skills
- Ideally already working in the cleaning industry
- Minimum of 2 years experience preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate
